The RCI Starlite specialty Silver Dot and Clear heads are available in sizes 6"-26".These are specially made heads that are made for the acrylic drum shell in mind and will work on wood and other drum shell material as well. Not all heads are alike from different brands to different designs most heads are made around wood shells. After many years of comparing and testing out many heads RCI Starlite finally came up with a Super Duty High performance crystal clear single ply head that will make your acrylic drums open up and give you the best sound propagation and resonance with minimal amount of tuning. Not to mention that you can achieve good  highs and lows from this new variety of Super Duty head from RCI Starlite that will cut through naturally through amplified music without having to play around with to many sound effects when miced up. What makes our head different ? .....As many would know that acrylic drums are made a little larger in diameter because there is not a wrap around the shell. This puts the high point of the bearing edge at a different seating location on the head. The RCI Starlite heads utilize a Folded type of sealed head and not a U groove type of head. The shoulder on the heads are a little shorter (less tall) so that the head seats right away with minimal Tuning and stress on the drum shell. A lot of heads out there have a longer shoulder and your hoops disappears down the side of the drum. When this happens you are in danger of the shell choking and loosing the low end sound and the hoop bottoming out on the lugs which will cause all types of sound and tuning issues. The RCI Starlite Specialty heads are made of a thick crystal Clear material in the Silver Dot option and straight clear heads. The material is crystal clear and not of the hazy variety.
