1. The biggest considerations needed to take when drilling acrylic drum shells are the following: Diameter of shell, thickness of material, size hole, heat generation, RPM, type of drill (hand or drill press)

2. RCI Starlite drills have a special grind angle at the tip with and extra large relief angle to drastically reduce heat and cut the acrylic hole quick and easy without any damage to the shell and without a large temp increase on the drill.

3. The tips are setup in such a way in where it is a tapered cut sytle tip (very similar if you drilled a small hole first and then when in with a larger drill later. Our special drills still produce much less heat than the pilot drill operation.

4. The drill spiral twist is much differnt for acrylic than metal and has the same special relief cut all the way up to the shank

5. RCI drills are made of M2 High Speed steel that will keep the cutting edge much longer than most drills on the market and are made in the USA.

6. The sizes of the drills are made specifically for For othere popular Acrylic drums shell brands includingVistalites. These include: 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 17/64, 9/32, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16 and 1/2
